Pain and other physical symptoms exist for a reason, and often that reason is to alert and motivate us to do what is needed to look after ourselves. Sometimes though, physical symptoms can be so unpleasant or disruptive that they start to take over our life.
When this happens, we naturally start to relate to these symptoms as a problem and look for ways of trying to resolve them. Our automatic responses can unwittingly trigger and feed into cycles that maintain and intensify these physical symptoms. By understanding and working with our minds we can stop feeding into the cycles that continue to intensify physical symptoms.
